    iMatch or Similar Quick Connect!

    Hey Gents,

Just finished connecting the H120 loader and Frontier RC2048 to my 1026R. After last nights storm I've got some cleaning up to do in the morning and wanted to be ready tonight. Anyway I'm definitely in the market for a quick connect for the 3 point hitch. What a pain in the A** putting that thing on is.

I've heard of Speeco and was wondering what you guys think of that unit as opposed to the JD iMatch.

I could kick myself for not getting one in the tractor purchase! Kinda wondering too why the dealer didn't mention it now that I think about it.

    Thanks!
    Larry

Thumbs up You'll love owning one

You can't go wrong for getting a quick hitch. I have no issues with my older JD iMatch. The newest one now available has the adjustable top hook.

I moved this to the implements and attachments section. Hope you don't mind.

    Cool

    Larry,

I just put my John Deere Imatch on my 1026R a couple of weeks ago.

    PROS:
I just back up to the ballast box while aligning the center hook of the Imatch with the center pin on the ballast box and adjust the hook height as I get closer. When the hook is under the pin, I raise the Imatch and watch that the 2 lower hooks are catching the 2 lower pins on the ballast box. Then I get off the tractor to latch the 2 latch levers after checking to make sure all 3 hooks are properly seated. Like everything else, this gets faster with practice.

    CONS:
The Imatch makes the tractor about 5" longer and maybe 50# heavier.

    COMMENT:
I've found that it pays to buy John Deere equipment as opposed to cheaper off brands because you get the durable John Deere paint job along with John Deere's detailed design and manufacturing.

Nope, not at all. Should have posted it there in the first place. Thanks!

Thanks Larry. As far as the CON goes, I'm currently using the RC2048 for ballast. So I'll end up with a far shorter footprint with the iMatch and the ballast box I've still not purchased. Do you mind me asking how much the iMatch set you back? I'm thinking the JD ballast box is ~350 but don't know what the quick connect costs.

I'd prefer to make my own ballast box but I don't have welding eqpt. Some of the things guys here make is awesome.

    Larry,

The Imatch was $330 plus tax and I think the ballast box was about $230.

Did you know... that the latches have inclined planes so that you can flip the levers down, go grab your ballast box and the latches will "pop" into place when you lift. Might save you one trip on and off your tractor. I discovered that by accident.

    Arlen,

There's hardly a day goes by that I don't learn something. Thank you for today's lesson.
