    PTO Shaft for 52 Broom

I picked up a used 52 Broom at a reasonable price that was previously mounted on an X748 that I want to put on the 1026R. I've got the quick hitch and pto shaft that runs under the tractor for the 1026. The broom that came off the X748 has the short pto shaft that attaches to the mid pto shaft but I am pretty sure the front pto shaft will need to be longer to fit the 1026. I'm certain I can have a machine shop lengthen the shaft much cheaper than a new shaft.

So I am asking if someone with the snowblower or broom mounted on their 1023 or 1026r could measure the distance of the front pto shaft shen extended to its fullest dimension. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't be so sure about the machine shop route. Not familiar with your implement but What I am familiar with is a system where one piece is inside the other, both ideally would be lengthened, both are attached to the yolk or fork things that hold the actual universal cross with a roll pin. If what you have is like I describe chances are you drive out the roll pins and get longer pieces that often all sorts of them at tractor dealers. It is rear pto but you might wander around this thread. http://www.greentractortalk.com/foru...-bad-ugly.html

    PTO Shaft for 52 Broom

Why are you so sure it's the wrong length? Mount it up and give it a try. I'm pretty sure the 52 broom only uses one size implement drive shaft for all hitches.

You are correct. My dealer confirmed yesterday that the implement drive shafts are indeed the same.
