Hi all, 2305 PTO shaft question

I've heard about needing to shorten the pto shaft on some 3pt implements for the 2305. Will the imatch resolve those clearance issues or will I still need to shorten the shaft for a tiller or brush hog? I'm sure this has been addressed, but search turned up nothing and I'm about to pull the trigger on a brush hog so I need to know.

    Thanks!

    It depends.......

The only true way to do it right is attach the implement, hook up the driveshaft, and very slowly/carefully raise the implement watching the PTO shaft joint. If it closes all the way you will have to shorten it which isn't a big deal.

Using an iMatch hitch may help but it all depends on the length of the shaft to begin with. There is more of a chance that you might not happen to have to shorten the shaft.

I have iMatch and had to cut the shaft for one of my implements. Not a big deal.

I'm just glad you are informed enough to ask the question. I'm sure a lot of sub-compact failures came from a drive shaft being too long.

I thought this was a fitting place to include this video -
