So after two days of trying to connect to my 950, I concluded that perhaps the shaft assemblyis not working as designed. It only retracts about 3 inches so the spline end of the floating yoke is basically impossible to maneuver. I never thought to take the spline end of the arm from my woods mover and see if it fit onto the tiller UJ side, but is this something that folks typically do? If I have the same problem then I suspect that the UJ side of the arm is bent or damaged and that I should just by a entirely new shaft assembly? Any suggestions or recommendations on where to buy a model 40 tiller / 950 compatible arm? Thanks!
If the shaft will not collapse, slide together, likely it is bent. If the other shaft it identical size, shape and length you could try the end section. Usually if the shaft is bent, best solution is replace entire assembly. It needs to slide freely to avoid damage to implement gearbox or tractor PTO
