    fouling plugs

    My 1937 AR is fouling the #1 plug It will not run smooth and smokes black any thoughts?

    Their are many things that can cause the plugs to foul.The problem itself might not be with the actual plugs but something else such as the carburetor not being properly set or adjusted wich can cause improper air and fuel mixture.worn out rings and seals can also cause fouling.I would check the plugs first before i would rule out any of the above.Pull the plugs out and clean them up with spark plug cleaner and then use a wire wheel or brush.It might also be a good idea to re gap the plugs
