    John Deere G

I have a 1951 G john Deere. It has around rear axle housings, but various sources state the 1951 G's had clam shell fenders. Did John Deere produce G's with square axle housings?

    No.
The axle housing(final drive, per JD) is rounded. Brackets bolt to the final drive to mount the clamshell fenders, if used.
