    1947 A hard to start

47 A, electric start, mag. Timing set to impulse dead on mag trip, it will only hit with throttle completely off but won't stay running. Dies as soon as you try to give it any throttle at all. If pulled, it will finally run and run fine all day. With timing light it seems retarded, and fires more often than twice 180 out it seems. New plugs have nice blue spark outside of block.

I went through all this recently and would be much easier to talk you through it over the phone. If you want to PM me we can exchange numbers. I dont have a computer, just a smart phone and too much of a pain in the but to type.

My 46 A was tuff starting when I got it. It was retarded and I couldn't rotate the mag far enough to bring it in to time. It turned out that the lag timing adjustment was off. Once that was set it starts easy.
