    John deere 70 power steering

    My 1955 70d is leaking oil from the ps pump.... Is there kits available to rebuild them? I havent found much about them.

    I did see that site but they are pricey and I would prefer to do it my self. I just need a seal/gasket kit.

    Seals are (or were) still available from John deere a couple years ago, some parts are not. Be careful what you wish for as you may see the elephant on this one. Oh ya, check to see how deep your pockets are before you dive in. Just the main shaft will cost you $275. As I said, rebuilding the pump is the easy part. I spent the better part of the summer a couple years ago doing this job on my 70 gas standard. Do your homework first as there are different approaches to this job.

    Thanks Dan! I know I can get aftermarket seals, but its the shaft and bushings that worry me!

    You can get the shafts from Richard Duane (M&D Reproduction Parts) phone # 410-643-2899 and the bushings from John deere.
