    Old JD Manure Spreader

There has been a John Deere manure spreader sitting out of the elements in my grandpa's old chicken house now for as long as I can remember. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 93. He didn't have a lot but what he did have, he took care of. It really is in pretty good shape and has done nothing for me and my parents but act as an aluminum can receptacle for the last 20 years or so. I was wondering how old it may be. There is a metal plate with this stamped on it.

    TYPE E000R
    SERIAL 40038

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Roger

The rims look like the same ones used on the 1950's plows. They have bushings rather than bearings.

I hope someone can get better answers for you.
