    Birth of a food plot

I think this is around 4 acres, but won't know for sure until the new sat pics are updated on the County's GIS site.

I've got about 7 hours seat time into getting where I am, but that also included 1/4 mile of windy road clearing of stumps and rocks. It'll be interesting to see how the bigger stump grinder teeth change the speed of cutting for my grinder.

Things were going well until my PTO clutches blew up and jammed the clutch housing and the next thing I knew my shaft was flopping around.

Omni Gear was no help, and their parts distributor was no help either, but after going up the CS chain with Surplus Center I was able to get a decent discount on a whole gearbox since I wasn't able to buy a replacement input shaft - so that's coming up next week.

The new Greenteeth were working great. When I bought my 700 series teeth, they didn't offer "reverse" pockets (that go inward towards the center of the wheel), so I'd always had a 1" or so dead spot in the middle of the two sides. When I upgraded to the 900 series I got 3 reverse pockets and now have the ability to PLUNGE CUT.

Got the new gearbox last week and got the grinder back together. I've been sweating 3/4 gallon a day in 86° heat, but progress is being made on the plot.

Found Trump in a stump yesterday.

Also discovered the old gearbox is fixable, so at least I'll have a spare. The innards look beautiful, aside from the input shaft.
