What kind of crap is this???

My garden is 6 raised beds. I went out this morning to pick some of the zucchini and squash and noticed some scat on a little rolling stool that I have out there. It has kind of odd looking shape to it. Went around to another part of one of the beds and found some in the tomato leaves and also on the top rail of the bed. Anybody have any idea what this is from? It must be something fairly large because I also had a hose-end fertilizer sprayer sitting on the corner of the top rail and it ended up about six feet away in the grass.

    On the tomato leaves:

EDIT: What I can't figure out is what was big enough to knock that sprayer off into the grass, but was small/light enough to poop on the leaves 18" above the rail???

EDIT #2: Also, the top rail of the raised bed is about 18" off the ground, so the leaves where the poop was is about 36-40" off the ground.

mark02tj, I went and looked at a scat identification page, and believe it or not, it looks to me like it may be caterpillars! That would kinda explain the placement.

Just so I'm understanding this, you have a book that identifies poop.

That's either one heck of a caterpillar, or one great diet plan. Just poop out 20% of your body mass right before a doctor's visit and say "how do ya like me now"

Pat, as Big Jim said, it was on the internet (follow the link I posted and look at the caterpillar section - I couldn't believe it either!).

I think that Oscar Leroy might be right.

    Who'da thunk it?

Regardless, I dug out my game camera, put fresh batteries in it and set it outside. I found a spaghetti squash that looks like a deer took a bite out of it.

You know Oscar, in my defense, I didn't realize that was a link. I thought you just bolded and colored the word green so we understood what kind of caterpillar you were speaking of. Looked more a Cat 320 excavator was spitting crap out the exhaust.

    Today’s Haul

Got these today. A few cucumbers got too big. Still, very blessed.
