What type of insect is this?

Hopefully this subject fits in with this forum. Does anyone happen to know what type of insect this is? I live in PA. It is approx. 5/8" long and the wingspan is 1". I've been Googling insect images for hours and just can't find anything.

Could be. Although the rear section doesn't seem to match any images of Damselflys I can find. All of them have a rear section that is straight and round. This one was more flat with that fat section on the end. I found this image of a Damselfly life cycle.
