Help with winged ants in my garage

Moved in last July, no problems.

Last week these little buggers started coming up through seam in the garage.

Got out my trusty Terro, and the little ones love it. But the winged ones do not.

Got some ortho home defense, and it kills the bugs I spray...but more show up next day.

    Suggestions?

    You have termites.

    Call an exterminator.

Those will only live a couple hours anyway. They are just looking for dirt to lay eggs.

The bad ones are in the wall.

Daubs, The first thing I'd do ...and FAST!... is research on-line and/or call an exterminator. Are they winged ants or termites? You really NEED to know which they are! Bob

Wings longer than body = termites.

I just went through this a month ago.

What he is seeing now are swarmers.

I believe they are winged ants. They are thin at waist.

We did have a termite inspection last summer when purchasing this property.

Ok, I 'm good with that. It's your house.

Can't really tell from your picture if the body is one section or multiple.

You do know that a termite inspection is just looking for noticeable evidence right?

We purchased two years ago and also had an inspection.

Zooming in on the photo and comparing to the illustration, they look like termites to me. Hopefully I'm wrong. Good luck

I too, had a bunch of dead ones on my tool bench a couple days ago. Cleaned them up and some more, but not as many, were there the next day. Haven't seen a single one since.

Im going with ants. On the downside, they look like carpenter ants. I would have a professional out too look at your garage, you may have a bigger issue

    Ants or termites,

    Regardless,

    Save a few samples.

    Call a professional.

Show them were they came from.

    Nip it in the Bud.

It's not like you got the clap?

Mine happened mid to late May. It was a holy (F bomb) moment.

Sent a picture to our bug guy.

He called me back and said "Yep, you got bed bugs"

    WTF?

"Naw, just kidding. You got termites. Not a problem. I'll call you tonight with a date so that I can kill them."

Winged Ants or Termites, I hope it is that easy.
