    Battery for 855 tractor

I've searched all over & haven't found a battery size chart or cross reference for a battery that will fit my 855. Does anyone know the proper size or model # for an Exide-Interstate or other brand. I only need 650 CCA. I think JD is a 475 CCA standard battery. I'm not sure I want a Walmart brand. Don't know what they have or the quality. Also, JD makes no sense to buy from them & pay a big mark up when they do not make batteries. Thanks for the help.

JD Parts is showing two different 855 batteries, both are 500 CCA... one type if located behind the engine and another type if located in front of the engine. You may find that after the core credit, the JD battery price isn't all that bad given the CCA rating.

For the one behind the engine they are only showing a Dry Charged choice (Size 22F):

    Part Number: TY6192
    Part Price: 163.07 USD
    Core Value: (18.00 USD)
End Price With Core Return: 145.07 USD
On Hand: 0 Check Other Stores
    Description: Dry Charged Battery - BATTERY,DRY,12V,BCI 22F,CCA 500

For the one in front of the engine they are showing both a Dry Charge and Wet Charged choice. Always go with the Wet Charged if you can (Size 45):

    Part Number: TY25881
    Part Price: 156.21 USD
    Core Value: (18.00 USD)
End Price With Core Return: 138.21 USD
On Hand: 0 Check Other Stores
    Description: Dry Charged Battery - BATTERY,DRY,12V,BCI 45,CCA 500

    Part Number: TY25881A
    Part Price: 118.73 USD
    Core Value: (18.00 USD)
End Price With Core Return: 100.73 USD
On Hand: 1 (Supplier Direct - Contact your dealer for availability) Check Other Stores
    Description: Wet Charged Battery - BATTERY,WET,12V,BCI 45,CCA 500

You are posting this ~ 59 minutes after your original post asking for assistance. That didn't leave much of a window. How did you post your question, drive to and from Sam's Club, purchase a battery , install the new battery and post again all inside of 1 hr?

Changed the cable ends and ran my 855 for 5 years with a $29, 270 CCA lawn tractor battery from walmart. Just replaced it in October and discovered they had the A1 batteries in a 340 CCA now so I put one of those in. Seemed to spin the engine just fine.

The stock battery size for my front mount was a match to the ones for a Honda car and were over $100.
