Dumb Question on Value of a JD4600 Tractor

It has a 460 loader, less than 1800 hours, 45 HP 4x4 Diesel JD4600 Hydrostat I was thinking of bidding on coming up at a auction. Supposed to run great any thought on it's value? I don't know the year? All I could find was $9500.00 - $17,500.00 used up to 5,000+ hours?

Site unseen, no pictures to help evaluate condition, I'd say $9500, to about $17,500LMAO.

It would have to be pretty beat to be a $9500 tractor, and in pretty good condition, for it bring $17,500. Who knows what an auction will bring tho, too many variables.
Pick a dollar amount that you like, and stick to it. DOn't get sucked into the heat of the moment.

Been watching used tractors drop big time in prices at the auctions? Just I did not think under 1800 hours and a bid of $3-$5 grand and quit bidding was a good deal??? I know what I paid almost $30K for my 4044M new!

I sold my 4610 for $12500 last summer.

Had just under 2000 hrs, was in very good shape, only down side was tires were worn and would need replacement soon.
Had the 460 loader, bucket in nice shape, front edge nice and straight yet. 4x4 with e-hydro.

For me it was too big for the most part.
I downsized to a 2720, fits my needs better.

    Bigger is not always better.

If it was in decent shape 5 grand would be an awesome deal.

In rough but working shape I'd think 9 grand would be about right.

those are great little tractors...i keep a 4500 just because i cant seem to let it go ...my fav tractor...a lot more value in a tractor than the prices they are bringing..love the loader control location and fuction

price of course all about condition and configuration

i like mine so much i am thinking i would like the max hp version 4700 so i have been watching prices...

but a very nice tractor ..open station..4wd...decent tires...scv? . FEL....everything works etc ....i would think 11k-13k...no clue how Hydro affects the pricing

FWIW ...plastic on those are easy and inexpensive to replace..mine has been trouble free (about 1800hrs now)

I would go to Machinefinder.com and see what JD Dealers are asking for these. Not sure if you have been on their site but it will list every one that is listed in their dealer network. Of course you will have to take into consideration your region. I am not sure how popular that size of tractor is in Eastern Washington. I do see a fair amount of 4000 series tractors of that era around here in North Carolina.

Do you know of any historical problems with this model? That would affect how much I would want to bid on it.

I've been using Iron Appraiser to value used tractors. The values are based on regional factors, condition and hours and options can be added. It costs $19.95 per appraisal, which is money well spent in my book, whether buying or selling.
