Anyone expecting JD to redesign the 3R or 4R anytime soon, 2020,2021 models perhaps.

I am kind of curious after recently seeing all the improvements JD made to the new large frame 2Rs 2032R/2038R models.
Several features I really like on that new 2R. Sort of makes me think JD would be looking to carry some of those new features over to the 3R at some point.

How often does JD typically redesign or update their LCUT class machines?

My observation is that they seem to revise a series every 10 to 12 years or so.

    As examples:

The 850 and 950 models were built from 1978 to 1989. (11 years)
The 850.950 were replaced by the 870/970 models that were built from 1989 to 1998. (9 years)
The 970 was then replaced by the 45XX models which were built from 1998 to 2012. (14 years)
The 45XX models were then replaced by the 40XXM/R models starting in 2012 and remain in production. (7 years so far...)

So if things hold to form, I'd expect something "new" between 2022 and 2025.

Keep in mind that the "old" 2-series models were hold overs that were renumbered. The old 2032R was near identical to the prior 2720. The 2720 was built from 2008 to 2012 and the 2032R was built from 2012 to 2016 before the "new" 2032R came out for 2017. There was also some wrangling going on there because the 2720/2032R were built by Yanmar for Deere. The new 2032R is built by Deere themselves. So some of the need for a change there was pushed by contractual issues.

While I was waiting and waiting for my 4R to come in (over 6 months), heard there wouldn't be any design changes till 2022 on the 4R series.

Think they were introduced in 2014 - 2015.
