    LX172 Drive Issue

    Greetings

My LX172 won't move. When pushed with the engine off, it rolls easily either in neutral or in gear.

Here's what I know: While mowing I stopped for a moment with clutch in. I let the pedal out and the mower wouldn't go forward or in reverse. No weird noises. I checked the drive belt and it had jumped off. The belt was shot but not broken.

I replaced the belt and still nothing.

I wondered if the electric clutch had gone belly up. The local dealer told me the electric clutch had nothing to do with the drive system, only the PTO for the blades, which still engage.

He mentioned a small spring near the clutch pedal and accessible from underneath that may have popped out of place. Or is there a switch or relay that I need to check?

I'd like to think the belt is properly installed as I followed the diagram I had. Is it possible I didn't get the spring loaded pulleys adjusted right?

I'd really appreciate any guidance I can get.

    Thanks

Yours is a manual or hydrostatic?

Did you check the pulley on top of the transmission like XCD suggested? Make sure it is actually turning the input shaft.
Also is the belt tight enough to avoid slipping on said pulley?
