    X728 Leaking rear axle seal

    Guys,

Anyone ever have a leaking rear axle seal on their x-series? Looking at the parts breakdown, there is a snap ring at the end of the axle tube holding the bearing in. Hopefully this is all I have to remove to get the axle out to change the seal. Thanks!

The axle housing itself has to be removed and the axle pressed out. Then disassemble the axle and replace seal. That big snap ring behind the flange comes off first then the axle gets pressed out. And it gets pressed back in too.

Dang. I was hoping someone wouldn't say that! Would anyone have the service manual pages for this operation?

If u plan on keeping the tractor I would advise you get the maintenance manual on CD. It's reasonably priced.
