Where is the serial number 42" snowblower

It came on a John Deere 325 if that helps. Just trying to find what else it will fit for a friend that may want to sell it. So, as the title asks, where do I find the serial number? Thanks!!!
Also any idea what it's worth? Looks almost new, little use

It's in the center below the chute. I've seen them down around the pulley. As for price average is about $400-500 in good shape,as high as 800 and low as 300.
They fit many models from LX,GT,3xx series (325,345,355) and GX.
Is it the straight frame or curved.

So on the outside. rear of the housing under the chute? It was slid up against a car, so I could not see the back side at all without pulling it out. I doubt it would be on the auger side?
What I could see of the frames is they looked straight.

    Thanks for your help.

From JD parts if serial number 130001-170000 it will fit 240-345 with only a different lift link for 240-320 than the lift link for 325-345.
If over serial number 200001 it will also fit GX, LX & GT models. That's why I am trying to find where the serial number is.

Straight or curved frame may also tell which it will fit. Thanks for pointing that out too.

Story is he bought it from a neighbor when they bought a new tractor. His son has the JD 325 and did not want the blower which has been stored inside ever since. He asked if I could find out what else it may fit, IF he decides to sell it (which I think he should)
