    E130 Fuel Tank

    I apologize if this has been asked. I tried searching the forum but had little luck finding anything on the E130. I just purchased one and it was delivered today. When I went to put gas in it, I noticed that the fuel tank is not really bolted in. It's contained under the sear just like the old 115 I'm replacing but it just jiggles around. Is that normal? I called back to where I bought it and they said they were all like that. It just seems very odd for it to be so loose. I would think it would rub a hole in it over time. Thanks in advance for any help.

    None of them are any more. My 1998 455 isn't either if that helps put it in perspective. Take the seat pan off and the tank lifts right out. GX345 is the same. Hope this helps.

    The D and now E series have a floating fuel tank. That's actually how the "gas gauge" works. As fuel is added it tilts the the tank on a springloaded pivot. It's not full proof nor accurate. So fill up after every use and all is well.

    Thanks to both of you. It just seems odd. One would think it would wear on the tank as it bounces around. But it that's the way it is, so be it.

    Not heavy enough. It only weighs 15# soaked to the gills.

    455 fuel weight is jjust north of 45# and at 1400 hours its no worse for the wear.

    That is normal, if you move it you will see your "gas gauge" go up and down. so the weight of the fuel will move the needle to full.

    Mine is being delivered next Thursday. I’ll check it out too. I always fill before the next endeavor.
