Which sensor do I replace? Mower shuts off when getting off seat.

Hi. I tried searching but am not coming up with what I need.

I have an L130. Runs great but when I disengage the blades and set the brake, the engine shuts off when I get off the seat. Its a PITA when I want to empty the bags because I have to shut down and restart engine every time. Is the engine never supposed to run when you get off the seat?
    Thank you!

Also, which mulching blades to you suggest for the 48" deck.

    Thanks!

Sounds like the brake switch may not be working or out of adjustment (if it has any).

agree with coaltrain. you should be able to get off with the tractor out of gear and brake set.

This is all the manual lists:

    a. Disengage PTO (C).
    b. Start engine.
    c. Lock park brake.
    d. Raise up off seat. Do not get off machine.
Result: Engine should continue to run. If engine stops, there is a problem with your safety interlock circuit.

It will be difficult to go much further without the technical manual. It's a good idea to check the brake switch as Stan suggested.

Start jumpering switches. I would start with the brake switch and see what happens.

I didn't test as my tractor is still "put away" waiting for spring in CT. But at $8, I just bought a new one along with oil, filter, etc.

Why buy a switch when it could be just out of adjustment?
