    L120 Mower Clutch/PTO Trouble Engaging

    Hello everyone!

You guys were so helpful last time I posted, and I'm hoping ya'll can help again. My John Deere L120's mower deck is not engaging. At half throttle, it will engage for a few seconds then stop. The engine keeps running, no problem there. At full throttle it either doesn't engage at all or tries every few seconds. When it tries to engage, the mower deck shakes then stops. When the deck is attached, the belt doesn't run smoothly when I pull it by hand, but when I remove the deck the belt flows smoothly through. Could it be a problem with the clutch?

I've got a video below that shows a little more of what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Battery

You need a new battery for your mower. Trust me, been there, done that several times over the years with my L120. The PTO won't operate when the battery is going bad.
