    X300 Starting/electrical problem

Happy owner of X300 and 1025R.

Background info: X300 with almost 300 hours. Battery is good. Voltage test at solenoid is good(12.4). Would not start after blowing whole unit with my compressor after mowing. Lights will not come on, except sometimes briefly when I wiggle the ignition switch. Sometimes there is no sound when trying to start, other times I can hear the starter spinning, but not engaging. Early in its life this unit had issues shutting off when mowing. Two trips back to dealer to fix.

What's confusing me is the starter spinning would seem to indicate bad solenoid, light issue would indicate ignition switch problem. Am I right? Replace ignition switch first?

    TIA

    Phill

Solved. Cleaned battery posts and everything worked. They looked good, but cleaning fixed it. Symptoms were strange. I learned that the voltmeter can read good, but there can still be not enough amps getting through.

Were you originally measuring battery voltage at the battery terminals or at the starter terminal?
