    Unhappy LX 280 repair

I busted a ball joint; went and picked up a new one at the John Deere dealer but when I got home I couldn't get the old one out (the one at the steering shaft. Do I take the steering column or shaft out? How do I do that? How do I get the steering wheel off?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Jimmme

    okay

Never mind. Got it fixed. Amazing . . . I worked on it for an hour and couldn't get the old ball joint fitting off the steering mechanism. Woke up this morning, had some ham and eggs, went out for one more try. Came right off. I don't get it. Yesterday I must
    have been low on cholesterol.

As this is a Deere site, you wouldn't have had green eggs and ham, would you? I know, that was awful. I couldn't resist.
    Thanks,
