    The 54HC Mower Deck Manual

    Morning folks

The manual that come with the deck of my shiny new x739 is not of much use. Reason being, it's been rolled up too long.
I did a search online, and found the manual, OMM177813 with the "Print" option at the top of the page. However, when this is chosen, all that prints is the John Deere Operator Manual View page. No matter the settings selected on the printer.

Is there a better place to download the manual from?

I don’t know of any options to print or download.

You can however buy a paper copy or CD -

    https://www.greenfarmparts.com/searc...172349&x=0&y=0

I came up with #OMM172349 for the 54HC deck on x700 series tractors -

John Deere Ag - New Equipment: Technical Publications - Equipment List

Notice the first line on that page says “Find, View, or Buy” - nothing about printing or downloading. Likely a restriction from Deere.

I actually like the online manuals and find them convenient. With that said, why don’t you unroll the manual and put a large, heavy book or object on it until it flattens out again?
    DRobinson and jgayman like this.

I'm finding (as all have posted links to) that the manual is only available for purchase. I already assumed this to be the case. The manual I have is borderline "usable" as it's gotten slightly crinkly (moisture) from being on the deck wrapped in shrink wrap, on the pallet. I went to the extremes we all probably would in my position trying to make it the best it can be. Given that, I even got out the wife's iron and gave that a go. The iron works to better the pages, but at the same time the heat pulls and smears the ink across the whole page. I stopped by the dealer and spoke with the salesman. He has a new one on the way, along with a few other things I ordered when I bought the tractor.

Thanks everyone for "trying" to humor me anyway. LOL

    Enjoy your weekends!!

That was going to be my next suggestion - getting one from the dealer.

Deere publications are under pretty tight wraps. All their stuff is copyrighted and enforced. Really can't blame them as a lot of time and effort go into these manuals - especially the technical manuals. I realize that a lot of stuff is free to download on the internet but Deere publications just isn't one of them.

Now that the subject of manuals has come up, how do I know if I have the "latest" most up-to-date for my 2018 x739 and 54hc deck? Mind you, this is my first JD product that I've purchased new, so I am green (no pun intended) on how to search and track things down correctly!!

I appreciate any and all guidance from those knowledgeable on the topic.

Excuse my ignorance is bliss, coaltrain. You gave me the information I was seeking. All I need to do is get the model numbers as reference.

    EDIT-2
All my manuals check out to be the latest based on The Product ID Numbers
