    GX345 Deck compatibility - will a 48c from an X320 fit?

I purchased an '03 GX345 a few years ago with a 48c deck and 515 hours knowing that it needed major work. It was originally owned by a ranch and not treated well. When I bought it, I changed out all the idler pullers, bearings and belts on both the tractor and deck. Also replaced the blade spindles and added gator blades. I ran it for 3 years and just finished rebuilding the engine which cost a pretty penny in parts.

While I had the deck off, I flipped it and checked the blade alignment and found the blade tips to be seriously out of alignment - as much as 3/4 of an inch which explains why I have been disappointed with the quality of the cut. The deck has several cracks as well as many dents from what looks like large rock strikes. It's clearly been abused and it think it's time for a replacement deck.

I found a 48c from a x320 that looks like new. Will this fit my GX345?

Note that I have the smaller tires on my GX.

    Thanks in advance.

It should fit, both decks mount the same in front and rear.

It does look like it should fit...

The attachment points and the rear stacked pulley all appear to be in a similar locations but without putting a tape measure on both or better yet, fitting it to the tractor, it's hard to know for sure.

One noticeable difference is that rear of the deck hangers are closed on X320 deck, not sure if that matters or not.

    Thanks.

    It seems to fit..

I bought the deck this evening and installed it. It's a tighter fit under the tractor as the double stack pulley sits about an inch further back and the linkage seems to protrude further back that the original deck.

I leveled it and after checking for interference, I engaged the PTO and all seemed good. It was after dark so I will try it on grass tomorrow.

Thanks to all that provided input.

I ran it for maybe 15 minutes today - all seems good

I tested it today on the lawn which hasn't grown much since the last cut so wasn't the best test for quality of cut. Ran it for about 15 minutes and it worked great, I think we can consider it compatible with the GX tractors.

BTW - the rear of the deck is much more substantial that the old 48c. There is a large piece of 1/4 plate at the rear that seems to stiffen the whole deck up. The rest of the shell seems to be near identical with the rear plate added, updated deck hanger and an updated belt tensioning system.

    Thanks again.
