I did some reading about them before I got my roller for my ZTR. I think they're good, but a roller is better. I'm really happy with my roller, makes the lawn look like Fenway!!!

    la110 striper

I would rather have the roller striper, but can't find one for a la110 42 inch mower

If you mow in reverse, yes they do.

    Tee-hee....

Guys have built their own, if you're that motivated. You can get the rollers from McMaster Carr.

does the roller striper hold the mower up to keep from scalping? if so, how could you back up with it on?

They are great anti scalpers. Ive had them on 5 different zero turns, 60" and 72" decks and love them. The rollers/stripers I had on the Exmarks I used to have and the two Deeres now they have brackets you bolt on the deck and the rollers are bolted to them.. They are bolted solid and some do have height settings.

I thought anti-scalping wheels are on the leading edge of the deck so that as you approach a hill or bump it guides you deck up and over, rather that jamming the leading edge of the deck into the dirt.

Height adjustment is nice, but the roller still nicely bends the grass even if it doesn't firmly roll on the ground.

    striper

my la110 is not a zero turn. would the exmark striper fit on that also? I also have a Dixon ztr zero turn, but it only has a 30 inch deck, probably don.t make anything that small.

I have one on my LA115 and it works pretty good.

The higher the grass the better the lines. I cut weekly and do the same pattern for 2 consecutive cuts, needless to say the second cut is way better then the first.

Only issues I have is I can seem to lock down the inside nut and it always start to ride up making it uneven to the grass, granted it still touches. I wish this was more of a free floating system where it was weighted down then this rigid locked in system.

But it does work and makes nice lines, but could be better IMO.
