I have a 2001 345, and was mowing a field yesterday that was exceptionally tall for it to handle. grass was between 16 and 20 inches tall, I was cutting half-passes, discharging into the already cut area. I have noticed previously, grass tends to build up under the left side header, right where the exhaust pipe leaves the head. I was mowing past dark last night, and as I took a turn down hill, I smelled smoke, then noticed a couple embers being blown out in front of the mower. I popped the hood, and found that the grass that had built up under the header pipe had been dried to the point where it was smoking and trying to get to ignition temperature. I don't really want to stop mowing every 30-45 minutes to clean that small area, would the anti-blowout kit stop enough grass from blowing out that it wouldn't build up in that location?
Forgot to mention, a previous owner removed and discarded the upper heat shield, AM128566, so that isnt present as well.
