Unhappy Jd lx176 doesn’t “idle up” enough to blow snow with jd blower? Older tractor did.

I sold one JD lx176 that needed a lot of work for another in better shape. Attached the same 38” JD blower to newer tractor. The old used to ramp up rpm quite a bit to blow snow. The newer one just wants to dribble it out unless I ram it into a lot of snow. Is there some sort of high idle-govenor type part or something that isn’t working right?

You might try getting a shop manual to start with. Go through the carburetor and governor adjustment procedures. What rpms are you running when blowing snow. Should be around 3200 or so.

    Pete,

The manual states that the high speed setting should be 3350 +/- 100 RPM. Here is an excerpt from the TM 1492 shop manual that covers this topic and how the adjustments are made.
