What serviceparts needed to do a complete service on a slightly neglected X758 with a

I will most likely buy a 2016 X758 with almost 320 hours on the clock. It has not received service for a long time, but functions well.

I would like to do a full service of it as soon as it arrives into my ownership; as its service-history is unknown; because the last owner passed away earlier on. The widdow who sells it; cant tell much about it.

So what do I need ?

I understand there is a servicekit from JD named LG260; which contains:
    (1) Primary air filter
    (2)Secondary air filter
    (3)Engine oil filter
    (4)Fuel filter
    (5)15W40 engine oil

So I guess this set is the one I go for.

But what about the hydrostat-gearbox: How often should the gearoil be changed ? Is there a filter there to be changed as well ?

Other parts/ details I ought to renew or overhaul ?

    Thanks guys :-)

Since the service interval on the X758 is 200 hours on the hydro, I would change the fluid and filter while your at it. Probably due for a coolant change too.

    Thanks; Firewood Bandit.
I see that the reccommended oil-quality for the hydrostatic gears is: John Deere Low Viscosity HY-GARD (J20D).

I also see that the partsnumber for the hydrostat-oilfilter is: John Deere AM131054
Where does the filter & oil go ?

Changing anti-freeze is a good idea.

You will need about 3.5 gallons of hydro fluid for the trans. It is in both the front and rear axels. There is a detailed drain and refill procedure in the owners manual.

    Don't forget to grease everything.

What is the coldest temp the machine will be started at? If it is in a heated garage, I'd go with regular High Guard.

Check with parts and find out if any drain plugs have washers/seals that should be replaced. I changed my x485 transmission oil and filter. No washer on the drain plug...............later I found it should have had an aluminum washer

My dealer recommend lo viscosity hygard, so that's what I used and I only use mine in the summer.

This may not apply, my x485 fuel filter mounts with plastic rivets. First change you have to replace them with self tapping screws. Something to check.

    From KennyD's post:

    Transmission and Hydraulic Oil
    MXT014790
    MXT014790-UN-09JUL15

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Do not mix transmission oils. Use John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Gard™ transmission oil to reduce transmission noise, and to increase response time for the hydraulics and power steering. Do not use Type F (Red) transmission fluid.

Use of John Deere Hy-Gard™ is allowed per the temperature recommendation chart.

Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range during the period between oil changes.

John Deere Hy-Gard™ and John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Gard™ branded oil is specially formulated to provide maximum protection against mechanical wear, corrosion, and foaming.

    The following oil is preferred:

    John Deere JD Hy-Gard™
    John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Gard™
Other oils may be used if they meet one of the following:

    John Deere Standard JDM J20C
    John Deere Standard JDM J20D

So if temp is above 14 degrees there is no reason to use low viscocity HyGard.

FWIW, whe it is hot out, my 2305 hydro will have a temp of 185-190 degrees operating on the hills in 4WD.
