    D-105 Crankcase Breather Location

    Can someone please post a photo showing the location of the crankcase breather on a JD D-105 riding mower?

    You will first have to remove the plastic engine shroud. The breather cover is located under the edge of the flywheel. One of the breather cover bolts is visible but unfortunately you will have to remove the flywheel to access the other breather cover screw. But... you should be able to carefully remove the rubber tube and see if the chamber under it is all clogged up with oily gunk or debris. If everything looks clean under where the hose attaches to the breather cover then it probably isn't clogged. The rubber hose then attaches to the intake manifold under the air cleaner. You can verify if that passageway is clear as well.

    Here is what the breather looks like from a parts breakdown standpoint... Part 1263 is the metal reed valve.
