Post JD 425 Exhaust Manifold replacement

I have a 425 that is loud even with ear protection on it. The local JD repair shop said it is an exhaust manifold that needs replaced and wants $1500 (parts and labor) to fix this.
    1) where are instructions on how to replace this part
    2) where can I get a used or aftermarket part

I have done research on #2 (not much shows up on #1) and looks like about $300-350 for a 'rebuilt' or $100 for used (usually with some holes).

The new muffler is $329.00 from John Deere. It includes the gaskets.

Used they are all over Ebay for under $100.00

It is held on with 6 nuts. 4 on the engine and 2 behind the battery if I remember correctly.

The price of $1500.00 is ridiculous.
If your near me, I will do it for $750.00.
