Got my replacement seat in today from JD for the x300. Much better material than the original so hopefully it won't split as fast as the original!

Really? When they replaced my X500 seat under warranty the replacement was identical to the original.

The original seat on the X300 felt like cheap plastic. The replacement from JD feels like a "firm but spongy" material. No different in the look though. Price was $194.00

The original seat on my X500 didn't even last 2 years. My tractor is stored indoors at all times. When the seat was replaced under warranty I decided to install a seat cover to see if it would extend the life of the seat. After one year I removed the cover and found what you see below. I taped up the cracks and reinstalled the cover.

JD should be ashamed of the quality of the vinyl on these seats. The seat on my 2720 has vinyl which is much heavier and resistant to tearing. I previously had a JD 175 Hydro that I purchased new. Its original seat lasted over 15 years before developing a few small tears. I replaced it with a 3rd party seat from Ebay and the replacement seat was way better quality than the JD seat. When I replace the seat again on my X500 I will be purchasing a 3rd party seat.
