First of all a hearty welcome!

Kohler has most of their manuals online:

    http://www.kohlerengines.com/manuals/landing.htm

And if you don't find it there:

    http://www.asberry.net/Kohler.htm

Not sure but believe that model Kohler has at least one thing that will prevent a no fire situation. I believe there is a low oil pressure sensor, if it gets low on oil it will prevent the engine from firing.

On no fuel, do you know if the carb sat with fuel in it for a long time? If so, it means stripping it down and cleaning the jets from gummed up fuel deposits.

No fuel at the carb, do you mean the line feeding the carb is dry or the bowl is dry? Does it have a fuel filter in the line from the tank to the carb? Or is there a small fuel pump on it somewhere?

If its sat, I would drain the tank and check the lines to be clean.

Could be a Coil/electronic ignition module failure for the electric no spark problem . Does the motor have a low oil shutdown switch? If so check the oil level. How long did it set? Did the fuel have stabil or another brand of fuel treatment in it? If there is fuel in the line going to the carb and the machine sat for a time it could be the carburetor's main fuel jet is lacquered closed.

I read an article a few months back that stated not all states require the amount of ethanol in their fuel be posted in clear view on their pumps.... It also stated that virtually all gas in America has some ethanol in it. If the machine set for a time I would change the fuel.
