    Home made FEL for 455

Hey guys read a lot on here for a while and it's been very helpful but here is my question just picked up a nice used 455 with 800 hrs and I want a FEL don't want to pay 3500 for a new ctc loader and can't find a used 40 so I've built a lot of stuff over the years fabrication wise and was thinking about building a FEL for the 455 but I have an opertunity to pick up a used loader off a zero 5211 grams good hard lines are good buckets good needs new soft lines but all and all a soid unit just needs some tlc I can't get it
From a friend for 200$ and I was thinking of having brackets and making it a lot smaller to fit the 455 plus it's a big cost in savings I'm a diesel tech and can custom make all the soft lines for cheap at work and have all the tools to do
What ever it takes my only
Thoughts are buy this loader and modify it to same money on steel cylinders wich is the main cost or start from scratch thanks looking forward to you thoughts

    Welcome to GTT!

Can you post some pictures of the potential donor loader? I'm sure we can help you figure out a good solution.

If you can post pictures of a 40 loader alongside the one you're looking at; that will help us too.

My gut feeling is build from scratch copying the 40 loader.
I have more ideas than ambition.

There is probably some good info on the WFM forum too about this, lots of homemade FELs there.

Vertical arms to the bucket are 5
Ft the bucket is 72"and the cylinders are rated for 400-4000psi and the

That loader looks/sounds WAY to big for a 455. 72" bucket, huge cylinders, and 900lb weight will be to much.

Here is a great built on WFM: Finished FEL on 400
