    transaxle fan removal?

I am in the process of removing the transaxle in my JD345 to fix a leak. I have the fender pan, floor boards and gas tank off. My next step is to remove the fan on the pulley that the belt goes to but when I try to loosen the bolt it just turns the whole thing. Is there a special way you have to do this? I have to remove the fan to get the transaxle out, there is no room for it to go out still attached.

Use an impact gun/tool. You can also try to use the drive belt to help hold the pulley from spinning.

An impact worked for me also.
