    using mounting boses on transaxle

    There are three 1/2 inch bosses on the transaxle of my 332 diesel JD lawn tractor. I was just wondering, are they strong enough to support 26 gal sprayer tank (275 lbs) with mount i made with a reciever hitch.? I made the mount out of 3/8 steel plate with a support going down to the drawbar hitch. I can post pics when I get my camera back. Thank for the advice. Green blood forever!

    Myself, I would be hesitant about attaching anything to the transmission housing. The older IH Cub Cadet had their hitches bolted to the transmission housing, but they were cast iron. On the newer JD 300 series, those are cast aluminum and I wouldn't take a chance on cracking the transmission housing. I would want to get to the tractor's frame itself.
