    X748 Price Check

This will be my first tractor and I'm hoping to make it a purchase that will hold me for some time. That said I have no real idea of valuation used tractors. What I am going to look at this weekend are two used x748's. One is a 2009 SE with 900hrs on the clock and definitely shows it was used. It's priced at $8500. The other is a 2008 Ultimate with 465hrs and looks pristine. It is priced at $8700. Neither have any attachments or rear pto, 3 PT or anything. They do however both have the 60inch 7 iron deck. Are these way overpriced?

Are these dealers or private sales? $8500 sounds pretty high, but that could just be a bargaining position. I bought my 07 x748 (900hrs.) at my local dealership so I demanded a few niceties such as a new seat, new HDAP tires, new manuals and full service (fluids, filters, grease, etc.). It is not pristine, but it's pretty clean. Came with 48" deck, 3ph and powerflow bagger and I talked them down to $6500 delivered to my home. My dealership has been kind enough to fix a number of things I have found in the first month of ownership up to and including a new battery. Good luck with your purchase. You will love the x748!

These are dealers one large outfit and a smaller one. I am hoping I can have them come down a fair bit on the price OR work out something as far as adding a 3pt or rear pto. Just don't want to be way off base when working through things with them if I really like one of these tractors!

I would go with the 2008 though high and would see if you can work on it some low hours mean a lot.In my area the price would be around the same in the midwest less unfortunately. The 2008 would be the sister of the X595.

Sounds like your going to look at Lester's x748. I passed on it Monday and bought a 2013 x758 that the Reading Phillies used to groom their in field.. He does have a 2012 x748se with 65 hours and a new 60HC deck for 11500 that hasn't hit the floor yet

I just feel like if I'm going to spend over $10k on something used I might as well start looking at SCUTs with attachments. I just built my house and have dirt piles to be moved and spread, big driveway and access road that needs to be cleared of snow, lot's of uses for a FEL....I don't know. Too much price overlap and the used machines seem to command a little too high of a price compared to new IMO....especially with 0% financing offers.

Seems overpriced to me, but every local market is different.
