X700 Series 3-Point Hitch Discontinued again?

    Hi All,

This is my first post, so I wanted to thank you in advance. I've already learned so much just browsing the forum.

My question is this: I read in another forum about the BM22286 Cat. 1 3-point hitch for the X700 series being discontinued and replaced with the BM23882 Cat. 1 3-point hitch. Upon looking at this attachment thru the build your own configurator on the JD website, I am directed here to the detail page: Discontinued - Category 1 3-point hitch
The detail page states that this new version is also discontinued as of Jul 31st, 2012. Has anybody out there purchased or ordered an x700 lately and been successful in getting the 3-point hitch? I'm still waiting to hear back from my dealer to see if he can get it for me... the suspense is killing me! I purchased the tractor just 2 weeks ago, and would hate to have to bring it back under the Deere 30 day promise and get a 1000 or 2000 series just to get the 3 point hitch.

    Thanks!

Even though I'm not in the know, I doubt if Deere would discontinued the option of a 3 point hitch for this series. JD will update this line for 2013 and it could be they're updating the 3 point hitch, though I'm not sure. Deere usually doesn't discontinued an option immediately after discontinuing a line without offering a solution. I would also be surprised if the 2013 models will change significantly that the new 3 point hitch won't fit this year's model.

The 3 point and PTO were actually my reason for not getting the X748 and getting the 1026R. If you add the PTO and 3 point to the cost of the X748 it was more than the 1026R. Couple that with low range and it was easy for me to take the leap. I know the X728 is gas and a little less money than the X748 so that may not be true for your case. The low range is also a very nice feature and I use it a lot more that I first thought. I hope it works out for you, but if not the 1 series is a great tractor!
