    LT166 Lawn Tractor Steering Problem

Steering wheel has too much slack. Steering column can be moved up and down and left to right when holding the steering wheel and is causing the steering to bind especially when making a left turn. I have downloaded a parts schematic of the steering assembly. Which parts will need to be replaced and what is the difficulty level to fix? thanks!

    Allen,
If you need a service manual to help you fixed this, pm me with your email address and I will send you one. For the time being, here are the pages from the manual for the steering. I hope it helps.

I suspect that the top and bottom bushings on the steering shaft are worn.

Yes, I was thinking bushings also. Another aspect of steering is the axle spindles, be sure you keep them greased.
