So dad is starting to look at MCUTs for around the farm.
They finally sold all the cattle, so now mom can "retire", as she was the one that managed all the cattle.
He will be working another year or so off the farm.
With no cows or crops the requirement to keep a 140 hp tractor isn't there, and the maintenance costs will quickly overshadow the usefulness.
Use will be mostly mom puttering around the farm yard, picking up sticks, moving stuff too heavy to lift herself, etc.
They have a 757(?) mower for the lawn and a skid steer for dirt work and snow removal.
Mom doesn't like the skid steer, so that's the reason for the tractor for her to use.
Dad ran across this one and asked my opinion.
2012 2520 with 200CX loader for $13,800 and only 210 hours.
My immediate concern is the mismatched tires.
I know the 2520 is a solid tractor, and similar to my 2320 (but without that stupid u joint!). I know that the R4 and turfs are different sizes, so wondering how much damage could have been/could be caused by running mismatched tires?
I haven't talked to the guy yet, or looked at it. Dad said he was "negotiable" on price. I don't think he's too far out of line, though would shoot for $12,500-13 with matched tires.
Let me know your thoughts oh wise ones!
