    John Deere 2720 3rd SCV

Hi everyone, I have a 2008 2720 and I’m looking into getting a grapple for it. My tractor does not have a 3rd function SCV. What does everyone recommend for this tractor? And how much will it cost?

I have a 1st generation 2032R which is pretty much an identical machine to your 2720. I installed a diverter on the loader. I use mine to control the angle on my snowplow but it would work the same way for a grapple.

That diverter kit is the best option for a grapple. The regular SCV kit would require you to remove your hand from the joystick to operate it, doable but not convenient or efficient.

I've been wrong before, but I thought the factory 3rd SCV included the toggle switch on the joystick ??

The factory 3rd SCV on the 2720 just feeds a pair of rear outlets (see below).

Not for the 1 and 2 series, it’s a manual valve as JG noted above, and not compatible with the power beyond option.

I put that Artillian diverter on my 2010 2720 three or four years ago for my grapple. Straightforward install though it took me an afternoon because I am very slow on things I am trying to understand and do properly. It was on a Sat afternoon and I called with a question figuring to leave a message and the owner answered and clearly resolved my question. It has operated flawlessly with hard use for several years. No regrets and much appreciation. Cost then $650+. Now probably a little more. Worth it.

I similarly installed my Artillian diverter 3-4 years ago. It continues to perform virtually unseen, exceptionally well and without any adjustment for Artillian grapple and snow plow angling duties-couldn’t be happier with it!

Can you post a couple pictures of this showing me how it is set up on the tractor/loader arms?
