The nice side of recycled steel

Was outside today cleaning up the carry all I welded up out of recycled steel and found this little gem buried under old paint and rust. Totally by accident it's dead in the middle of a cross piece.

    Good old American steel.

I happen to know the history of this particular steel as well. If it could talk man would it have one interesting story to tell.

That is the feeling I get when I am digging through my nuts and bolts.

Rockford Products used to supply Farm & Fleet and their grade 8 hardware was blue. Every so often when I am digging through the new ones they carry from JH which are gold I will find a blue nut or a lockwasher. Always makes me smile.
