Greetings from SE Mich from a new 855 Owner

Hi, I just brought home an 855 yesterday with a 70A loader on it. I hvae always wanted to have the chance to spend some time with one of these and my wonderful wife bid on this unit for me while I was flying home from a work trip!

Anyway, I consider myself handy but this is a complicated machine and I am a little intimidated as it's my first diesel 4x4 tractor. The biggest thing I had been around much was a simplicity 9020 and this close to twice that size...so I am in the intimidated / "what did I do" phase of this experience.

I need to go over this unit to make sure maintenance is up to snuff and sort out some electrical gremlins.

At any rate, this seems like a pretty cool forum resource so I am starting here to get smarter. Any FAQs I should read please point me in that direction so I can avoid being too anoyoing with the basic questions that most probably have.

I have the TM1360 Tech Manual and CTM3 engine supplement, but I would like to get the operator manual JD-O-OMM95303 operators manual and the PC2054 parts manual. Any susgestions for the best value for money on those?

I have a lot of ambition for this spring around the house but I really want to make sure fluids are good / filters are clean etc first.

    Thanks for reading my intro!

    Will,

The OM (most) and Tech manuals are available on JD's website. The OM is free and downloadable if available. Parts are on JDParts.com, so no need for the parts manual.

    Your gonna love that machine.

I've got a 955 and its been great for the last 20 yrs or so.

    Whats your electrical issue?

I had a previous 955 that was electricly challenged.
