New owner of a JD 655

    Greetings all,
I recently purchased a completely refurbished (inside & out) JD 655 with 1800 hours for $3,200 which seems like a reasonable price. I have always owned/still have a craftsman GT6000 with a sleeve hitch to tackle my jobs. However, it is too small and not powerful enough for what I am doing- time for upgrade. I am a retired Army First Sergeant (1SG) living on 1 acrea, on a hill, outside of Nashville, TN. Upgrading to a SCUT from a HD garden tractor is a notable difference. I can see already I need to have an aggressive maintenace plan. I was hesitant to go “green” as I really had my eyes on Kubota/Kioti. However, opportunity (price/location) and a JD service dealership down the road, is what made me pull the trigger on this deal. Look forward to reading all the awesome knowledge on this forum.

    Thanks
    Pete.

Congratulations on going green and for all the right reasons. That is one sweet tractor you got there and I'm sure with a little TLC it will reward you with many years of service.

If man had enough horse sense to treat his wife like a Thoroughbred, she'd never grow into an old nag.
