Every year at Whites Ferry MD there is "Fishing With The Troops" where Fisher House and local businesses and private citizens get together and have a huge cookout, open to all. WRAMC ( Walter Reed Army Medical Center ) and now Bethesda Naval Hospital sends out 1-2 buses so troops can have one day of R&R. There is about 150 bikes ( many veterans) get together with the red white and blue flying on back, and the police block traffic long enough for the bikes to ride through town. A small rolling thunder if you will.
It is a nice how folks donate time and money to help our soldiers have a good day, which they are long overdue for. One biker wears an uncle sam suit, and there is a "9-11" bike. Thing has stars & stripes, twin towers, Shenksville, and the pentagon moulded into the frame etc. You would have to see it to know just how creative the builder was. There is no CO's, no politics, just fun in the sun.
This is really nice, but I would like to see them all come home, forever.
Just felt like sharing that.
