    White noise anyone?

Sleep - it eludes me since getting sick - don't know if it is the disease or the medications. I fall asleep within a minute I think but am up every 2 hours at night - every night.

When I lay there at night I think back to when I was driving truck. 90% of the time I had it on high idle all night - I slept better there than I did at home. I guess it was the steady vibration under me.

Warm weather I have a big window fan that is right next to me - I seem to sleep better with that running.

I remember a couple co-workers who said thay ran a box/floor fan every night - couldn't sleep without it. Back then I thought it was ridiculous.....but now, I don't know.

I have an app on my iPad called Rain Rain - this is exactly what it is designed for I guess. I've been meaning to try it out but am hesitant for some reason.

Anyone use some type of white noise to sleep?

I leave the TV on all night at low volume. Probably not for everyone, but works for me.

Hi Stan, I have the same problem with my RA. I sleep well after my Remicade infusion but I have problems again around a week or so before my next one. I don't know what meds your on but I would suggest you talk to your rheumatologist, maybe it's time for a modification to your meds. Also this time of year with the wet weather makes things worse for me.

I sincerely hope you can find something that helps. I prefer a fan at times also, but the right medicine/dosage may work wonders. It has taken a few years for them to come up with what works for me.

Hang in there, your not alone.

Heard that the rain sound or ocean waves hitting the shore work for some people, been meaning to try that myself
when the tinnitus is particularly noticeable.

Usually resort to a shot of vodka or Jack Black if I'm in one of my sleepy, restless moods where the old brain won't

Stan, I have had sleep problems for a long time. I have tried it all and a fan is the best I have come up with. I find that constant noise works better than a turned down tv or noise machine. Even if you don’t want the air on you, just point it at the wall and turn it on. Works for me.

We have a pretty loud floor standing fan we use at night. I have to have some noise and it fits the bill. Plus I sleep hot, so I keep it pointed right at me year round. If the power goes out when I'm trying to sleep, I might as well get up. Too quiet.

My wife likes to sleep to the sound of these. They keep me up all night.

I’ve been on Hunira for 5-6 years now. Was also on Methotrexate for a couple years but it became toxic for me - absolutely horrible! Funny thing with RA is the fatigue - I’ve always had it bad. It is so bad that my eyes will shut on me during the day. If I sit in my chair during the day I will fall asleep within a minute if I am not reading something.

Well it looks like I am not the only one here - thank you all for your replies so far!

I had a feeling my RA and meds has something to do with this for me. But I hesitate to get my meds changed at this point since they seem to be working better now than they have for the last 5-6 years. That’s why I wanted some input on white noise.
