How's the weather at your place? - June 2018

Welcome to the June 2018 weather thread!

The full moon in June is on the 28th. It's called the full Strawberry Moon. This Full Moon got its name from the Algonquin tribes who knew it as a signal to gather the ripening fruit of wild strawberries.

Finally had almost a full day of no rain. Been raining for what seems like 2wks here and several toad choking down pours. I may be able to weed the garden/jungle and mow some grass this weekend!

Ended May with 3.65" of rain, year to date 21.20".

Way better than last year where we were 30.95" year to date at the end of May.

Heat wave (high pressure) moving in from the west, should hit 100* + , *maybe* according to weather guessers next couple of days.

    97* was high this afternoon.

Humid! Sultry! Tropical rain forest! The air is so heavy it’s.......

Low of 68* this morning - calling for a high of 82* with continued oppressive humidity. Slow moving cold front is supposed to push through late this afternoon or evening. Looking forward to some drier air!

Another month gone bye. Cooler stretch and less humidity coming for the next several days. Some rain chances on and off, and here we go again this year, we need to cut hay but waiting for a window of dry Weather.

I thought of you and your rain forest this morning as I left the house, it is the same feeling here. 68° with 98% humidity right now. Our high should be around 80°, it was 78° yesterday. The low this morning was 64°. We did have some downpours roll through in the early evening that left us with 0.34" of rain. Similar forecast for today.

All the Buffalo weather folks were talking about how this was the warmest May on record, or close to it. OC made me go back to look at our rainfall, 5.43" of rain for May. On May 12th we had the highest amount of rain in one day with 1.73". It's finally starting to dry out. Our high temp was 92° on the 29th and our low temp was 38° on the 11th.

    ....Gargle-y!

75 and same high humidity as everyone else, it felt like walking into a steam room without the extreme heat when i took the dog out this morning.

High today of 85. A good chance of rain through the day, evening, night, tomorrow....etc, etc.

OC had me look at my rain data also - 6.10” for May - over double the average - and it didn’t seem like it rained all that much.
ColonyPark and Old Cajun like this.
