And Edward Hermann is also dead a couple of days ago. 'Gilmore Girls' Star Edward Herrmann Dead At 71

He was a great actor and his Chrysler commercials in the 90s were great.

Sad news indeed. I was just reading about Donna, this morning.

And with the loss of one more Opry great, I keep hearing the song in my head, "Who's gonna fill their shoes?"

My first time to perform in front of an audience, I sang "Sleeping at the Foot of the Bed". It was at school, what they called in those days a "school assembly". This was in the early 50's, I was about 13 or 14 and I was a big Jimmy Dickens fan. I learned the words from listening to him on the radio and the juke box. Little Jimmy Dickens...small in stature, but a giant among his peers.

Edward Herrmann was also an avid antique automobile enthusiast and narrated many historical documentaries. He had an unmistakable voice.
