    Neat video

I stumbled across this video featuring Rhode Island, "The Ocean State." I grew up in Fall River, MA. just across Mount Hope Bay and on the Rhode Island line. Spent most of my youth on or near the ocean. Raised hell in Newport and met my first wife there. Got caught in a few storms and fog banks sailing to Block Island and back. Sunk a boat off Goat Island. Still can't figure out how I got home from Providence a few times. Great scenery! Many memories too!

    If You're from Rhode Island

    Enjoy!

It all looks very European to me, enchanting and beautiful. Where are the horses, cattle, combines and tractors?

Quite enchanting for sure! I've always thought of Rhode Island being kind of on it's own - a bit of a different world separated from the rest. Feel the same about Delaware also.

Born in Providence - family in Pawtucket and Central Falls (Centa falls for the locals....)

If ever in CF....you must stop by Stanley's burgers. The are to DIE for.....I think they've used the same grease since the 50's

Don't forget a nice tall glass of coffee milk. (cue the strange looks from people NOT from the east coast)

If you're in the area - make sure to take a trip to Woonsocket for Ye Olde Fish & Chips - best F&C on the planet (as far as I'm concerned.)

Coffee Milk. Stanley's burgers, Ye Olde Fish & Chips! Been there & done that. A good friend owns the Precision Harley Dealership in Pawtucket. It was the old Quartro's up until about 1990 when he purchased it.

I used to spend some time in North Providence years ago. Jimmy Birchfield's "Classic Lounge."

Although not born in RI, I do currently reside there. I will have to look up this F&C place. Can't be more then a few miles from me as I live in Cumberland. And Stanleys,

My grandparent's on my fathers side were in Cumberland - England St at the bottom of Hilltop Rd. I haven't been back there in probably 15 years (when my grandfather died and we moved my grandmother into my parents home here in MI)

I still have my Uncles send me coffee syrup. Mmmmmmmmmm

I'd freaking KILL for some Stanley's or those F&C.

Ye Olde has been in business for 90 years and you WON'T be disappointed. Don't forget the Malt Vinegar for the chips

Diamond Hill Ski Area in Cumberland, RI!! I used to ski there in High School. Got permanently barred from the place for reckless behavior. Just because I could slalom ski downhill facing backwards. I had a pair of skis that I reversed the bindings on and managed to pretty much master the slope.

I feel like we've met before. Precision? Almost bought a bike there. I still go there for parts for my Mother's '91 Softail she bought there. Good guys for sure.

Coffee milk? That stuff is great. The rest of you who haven't tried it, this is a New England staple.

Have you any marshmallow Fluff? Seem like another NE favorite. I've only seen it there.
